2017 SDA Conference Wrap-Up

The annual Pool Membership Meeting was held September 14, at the SDA Conference in Keystone. Both events were a big hit, drawing people from every part of the state. The Pool and SDA awarded dozens of scholarships to fund the registration, lodging, travel, and meal costs to send new attendees and board members to the conference.

Our keynote speaker for the Membership Meeting was Peter Jensen, Ph.D., a Canadian Olympic hockey coach. Peter gave a presentation on coaching your employees to achieve results and build a stronger future.
CliftonLarsonAllen gave a presentation on the Pool’s year-end financial performance, while the Pool administrators gave an update on the state of the insurance market, as well as what members can expect for their 2018 renewals.

Additionally, Adam Johnsen, the Pool’s safety management consultant gave two presentations at SDA University about maintaining safety and the playground inspection process.

We closed the meeting with a drawing for prizes including Kindle Fire tablets, a Samsung Chromebook, Anker Bluetooth speakers, and Skullcandy wireless headphones. We’d like to congratulate these folks, who won those prizes:

  • Dian White, Security Water and Sanitation Districts
  • Dean Snyder, Lookout Mountain Water District
  • Rich Lucero, East Lakewood Sanitation District
  • Cynthia Beyer, CliftonLarsonAllen LLP
  • Alan Fletcher, Fairmount Fire Rescue
  • Ken Judd, Donala Water and Sanitation District
  • Kurt Schlegel, Special District Solutions LLC
  • Carl Mulay, Green Mountain Water and Sanitation
  • John Hall, Clifton Fire Protection District
  • Heather Thomas, Pagosa Springs Medical Center
  • Robert Jones, Colorado River Fire Protection District

The Pool team had a great time meeting and talking with folks who visited our booth. We met current members, new prospects, and put faces with names as well as answered inquiries on our many programs. We look forward to seeing you back in Keystone next year!
