What’s New for January 2018

CSD Pool Reaches 30-Years

At its root, our mission has always been about prosperity. Our goal is ensuring that your organizations can provide your communities with clean water to drink, protection from fire, and safe places to read, play, heal, and thrive. Those missions are critical to the people of Colorado. That’s why we spend time sharing your successes and your struggles in our Member Spotlight pieces in this publication.

Thirty years ago, one hundred sixteen districts engaged in an experiment. They banded together to form what would become the CSD Pool because the traditional insurance market deemed them uninsurable. We want to thank our founding members—and all current members—for your loyalty and commitment to the Pool and its mission over the past three decades.

But we won’t spend another moment dwelling on the past, or boasting about our birthday. The CSD Pool has always been about helping its members achieve their missions, not about the ancient history of the hostile insurance market.
The best way for us to celebrate this milestone is to highlight your wins. Your achievements are the best testimonial to the success of the CSD Pool’s first thirty years. Join us in celebrating just that, by reading the Member Spotlight article on page 12 and in every issue going forward, and by continuing to exemplify efficient, effective local government.

NEW NURSE TRIAGE PROGRAM

Starting this month, Pool members not sure about how to respond to a workplace injury can call our 800 number, dial 1 for claims, and then have the option of speaking to a triage nurse who can advise you on how to proceed. Look for more information about this new program in a future issue.

OPTIONAL HIGHER LIMITS ON CYBER LIABILITY NOW AVAILABLE

Starting this year, a $1 million limit for Cyber Liability (vs. $200,000 previously) is available at no additional cost, subject to completion of a questionnaire and a cyber assessment through one of our partner organizations (NetDiligence or CIS). Please contact us if you would like more information about this program.

INCREASED LIMITS ON PRE-LOSS LEGAL AND NO-FAULT SEWER/WATER

The limits on the amount of Pre-Loss Legal Assistance and No-Fault Sewer and Water Backups under Public Entity Liability have increased:

Pre-Loss Legal:

  • $3,500 per occurrence (from $2,000)
  • $7,000 per member per year (from $4,000)

No-Fault Sewer/Water Backup

  • $10,000 per residential or commercial occupancy (from $5,000)
  • $200,000 aggregate (from $150,000)
  • $1 mil. all-member aggregate (from $500K)

CHANGES TO POLLUTION LIABILITY COVERAGE PROGRAM

This year there are several changes to our Pollution Liability Coverage that were driven by our insurer, Chubb. These changes include several limitations. We will notify districts that currently have this coverage of these changes in detail. However if you have any questions, contact us or your broker.
