Your Safety Budget Just Got Bigger

Big news! We just added more than $915,000 to the Safety and Loss Prevention Grant fund, and chances are your district will be getting a super-sized novelty check in the mail pretty soon. This is your chance to make some big upgrades, and invest in your employee’s safety.

If you aren’t familiar with this program, it allows the Pool to reimburse up to 50% of the cost of qualifying purchases. The purchases must be focused on preventing a covered risk, so the number of things that are eligible is pretty big.

Since this program was launched, we’ve allocated more than $4 million to members accounts, helping pay for renovations, upgrades, purchases, safety equpment, and more but members have only spent $2 million.

Here are a few examples of purchases some members have made in the past:

  • Fencing and security cameras
  • Personal protective equipment
  • Automatic external defibrillators
  • Cyber vulnerability assessments
  • Anti-virus software
  • Policy services like Lexipol
  • Safety training
  • Slip-proof flooring
  • Handrails
  • Fire hose testing
  • APA-compliance upgrades
  • Training and seminars
  • Fire extinguishers

These funds go even further when you combine them with discounts offered to Pool members at vendors such as TargetSolutions, ESP Safety, Brite Computers, Kickspike, Conney Safety, Red Wing Shoes, FireCatt, Lexipol, or AED Professionals.

Remember, these funds expire after five years if they are not used, so get spending! There are a few things that are excluded from the program, so reach out to us if you have any questions about what is or isn’t eligible.

If you have any questions or to obtain pre-approval, email us csdpool@mcgriff.com. Remember, these funds expire after five years if not utilized, so get spending! Put in your request today at csdpool.com/safetyGrantRequest.php.
